Consumer unit replacement

Plenty of Amsterdam homes still have a consumer unit from the seventies. Screw-in fuses, one RCD for the whole house, and no room for an induction hob or a charging point.

When to replace it?

If you still have screw-in fuses. If the RCD trips more than once a month for no clear reason. Or if you want to connect something big, like a heat pump, an induction hob or solar panels.

How it works

We come and look first. Within 24 hours you have a digital quote with a fixed price. The replacement itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and you’re without power for about three hours.

Afterwards you get a circuit schedule, so you know which circuit goes to which room, plus photos of the unit. Handy later on, and for your insurer.

Questions about consumer unit replacement

Does the grid operator need to come out?

Only if your connection needs upgrading, for example from 1x35 to 3x25 amps. We arrange that with Liander, you don't need to do anything.

Does all the wiring have to come out?

No. We only replace the unit. The wiring in your home stays, unless we come across something unsafe. Then you hear about it first.
